It’s a question many people ask—sometimes quietly, sometimes with fear: “Can I believe in God and still have doubts?”
The answer?
Yes!
Doubt doesn’t disqualify you. In fact, many people in the Bible wrestled with questions. And God didn’t push them away—He met them right where they were.
You’re Not the Only One
Thomas was one of Jesus’ disciples. He saw the miracles. He followed Jesus for years. But after Jesus rose from the dead, Thomas couldn’t believe it without proof.
“He said, ‘I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands…’”
—John 20:25 (NLT)
Jesus didn’t shame him. He didn’t push him away. He came close and said, “Look, Thomas. See for yourself.”
God isn’t afraid of your questions. He’s not angry at your doubts. He wants to meet you in them.
Faith Isn’t the Absence of Doubt
You don’t need perfect faith to follow Jesus. You just need a willing heart. Faith is choosing to trust—even when you don’t have every answer.
“I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”
—Mark 9:24 (NLT)
That prayer is in the Bible for a reason. God honours honest hearts.
Bring Your Doubts to God
The worst thing you can do with doubt is hide it. The best thing you can do? Bring it to God. Ask Him to help you see. Ask Him to strengthen your faith.
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you.”
—James 1:5 (NLT)
God isn’t distant. He’s close. He knows what you’re wrestling with—and He’s not giving up on you.
Final Thought
Doubt doesn’t mean your faith is weak. It means you’re thinking deeply, searching honestly, and growing. Keep asking. Keep seeking. And keep your heart open to Jesus.
He’s not afraid of your questions. He’s ready to show you He’s real.
